For Rubber Tops Good But Soft and Thin Tires
When using the tool to remove the tire, slightly lift the control pedal of the tire changer and push the tire inward to ensure contact between the shovel edge and the tire edge. Then, use your legs or hands to prevent the tire from springing back, and step on the control pedal. This method makes tire removal easier.
For Sports Cars with Long Tires
The tire’s internal air pressure over time and the heat from friction between the tire and the ground can cause the tire to adhere to the underwire. If the shovel has difficulty disassembling the tire, dissolve dishwashing detergent in water and apply the solution to the tire lip and underwire with a small brush. Once the solution penetrates the gap, use the tire changer shovel to remove the tire.
For Tires with Hard Tread
When removing tires with hard tread, it’s best to use a trolley spring plate and a homemade long crowbar to pry the bird’s head at the mouth. While pressing the tire belly with both hands, ensure that when the difference is about 200mm and the tire mouth is at its tightest, press the tire belly with your right elbow. Simultaneously, push the tire clockwise with your left hand. This method prevents the motor and the triangle belt from slipping and protects the tire changer motor.
Tire Removal Head Scraping Steel Ring
If the hexagonal pin lock is loose, the dismantling head screw is not tight or aligned correctly, or if there’s a large gap between the hexagonal pillar and sleeve, the dismantling head might scrape the steel ring. To resolve this, loosen the screw and repeatedly adjust it until the hexagonal column locks securely. If the dismounting head screws are loose, preinstall the screws, then install them with a medium-sized tire. Ensure the dismounting head roller rests on the steel ring, align the dismounting head with the arc of the steel ring, then tighten the screws. Finally, if pulling the hexagonal column by hand shows significant movement, replace the tire changer’s arm.
These tips can help you effectively use the tire changer.
