The Working Turntable Does Not Move

Troubleshooting Approach:First, identify whether the fault is electrical or mechanical.

Maintenance Method:

  1. Press or lift the foot switch of the tire changer and observe the motor’s response. If there is no response, use a multimeter to check if the voltage between the terminals is normal. If the voltage is normal, inspect the power supply line or power plug. If the voltage is not normal, the reverse switch might be faulty. If it is normal, the motor or capacitor may be broken.

  1. If the motor buzzes but does not turn, use the same measurement method as above. If the results are abnormal, the problem is likely with the reverse switch. If normal, try turning the gearbox pulley by hand. If it cannot be turned manually, the gearbox might be faulty.

  1. If the motor rotates normally but the working disk does not, it indicates a transmission fault, such as the transmission belt wheel not driving the worm rotation or a collapsed worm gear.

 Tire Removal Inability

Maintenance Method:

Observe the tire changer’s operation when removing a tire. If the tire changer does not rotate, the motor torque may be insufficient, or the capacitor might be faulty. If the motor rotates but the pulley slips due to a loose belt, simply tighten the belt.

Big Cylinders Can’t Press Tires

Troubleshooting Approach:** If the tire changer’s pressure is weak (e.g., the large cylinder moves without load but fails under pressure), it is usually due to low air pressure, air leakage, or issues with the air transmission of the large cylinder. If the no-load large cylinder does not move, compressed air may not be reaching the tire press end of the cylinder.

Maintenance Method:

  1. Check if the air pressure meets the requirements in the tire changer’s manual. If it does, inspect for leaks in the large cylinder.
  2. Examine the control gas pipe at both ends of the large cylinder and connect the air source. When pressing the tire foot, one of the two gas pipes on the five-way valve should emit gas. If not, replace or adjust the five-way valve for proper operation.
  3. Use a barometer to verify the air pressure at the intake end of the oil mist. If the inlet pressure is insufficient, increase the air compressor supply. If the inlet pressure meets the requirements but the outlet pressure is inadequate, adjust the oil mist’s pressure regulating knob. If adjusting does not help, replace the oil mist.

These are some common faults of tire changers and their corresponding repair methods. You can follow these guidelines to troubleshoot and fix issues.
